Payton Manning Throws 7 TD In Blowout Over Ravens
Payton Manning and the Denver Broncos lit up the stage last night in a record setting performance by Manning. The Broncos scored 35 second half points as Manning tied the NFL record by throwing 7 touchdown passes in the 49-27 win over Baltimore. The Ravens looked good early on and led 17-14 at halftime. The Raven defense appeared to look confused, probably communication problems with all the new players on defense. Manning and the Broncos scored 21 in the third quarter as the Ravens failed to stop the Denver offense.
Payton Manning finished 27-42, throwing for 462 yards and 7 touchdowns. Demaryius Thomas caught 5 catches for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns. Julius Thomas has a huge night, catching 5 balls for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns, the first 2 of his young career. New addition Wes Welker caught 9 passes for 67 yards and also had 2 touchdown grabs. Denver was held to 65 yards running as a team.
Baltimore's Joe Flacco completed 34-62, passing for 362. Flacco has 2 touchdown passes but also threw 2 interceptions. Tory Smith led the receivers with 4 catches for 82 yards. Rookie Marlon Brown caught 4 balls for 65 yards and a touchdown. Ray Rice only carried the ball 12 times for 30 yards.
Denver looked good last night, but the secondary is still a big question. Flacco tore the Denver defense up. I believe in time, the Ravens will be fine, but the chemistry isn't there just yet. As for the Broncos, their offense is very dangerous, the AFC better take note.

Week One 2013 Baltimore vs Denver Preview
Baltimore Ravens @ Denver Broncos
Baltimore and Denver 2013, you couldn't have picked a better NFL opener. The defending Super Bowl champions will visit the same Denver team that they knocked off in the AFC Championship in January. Thursday's NFL special should be a great one, right? I'm not sure, this is a totally different Baltimore team, one without Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and many others. On the other side, we see a better Denver team? Could Wes Welker be the key for Denver? There's so many questions heading into the 2013 NFL season opener and in a few days, we'll have the answers.
Do you have a winner yet? If one thing is for sure, it's tough playing in Denver. I really think Baltimore is going to be at a major disadvantage. You can practice all you want, but nothing compares you for playing in that type of environment. The good thing for Baltimore, the game is at night. None the less, the questionable back four for Baltimore will be tested by Payton Manning all night long.
Can Baltimore stop Manning? Manning has a host of dangerous weapons, including Welker, Thomas, and Decker. Ronnie Hillman and Montee Ball provide explosiveness out of the backfield. Manning threw for 4,659 yards and 37 touchdowns last season. Demaryius Thomas led the team in receiving yards with 1,434 yards in 2012 while Eric Decker led the team in receiving touchdowns with 13. Hillman only averaged 3.9 yards per carry last season, but is believed to be the starter. Ball should also make an immediate impact in the running game. In total, Denver ran for 1,832 yards
as a team.
The Raven defense has been the definition of defense for over a decade. The biggest question for Baltimore has to be the defense. Gone are Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, not to mention Paul Kruger. Kruger led the Raven's defense last season in sacks with 9. Their defense was average last season and that was with Lewis, Reed, and Kruger. The addition of Elvis Dumervil will certainly help, who had 11 sacks as a Bronco last season. Dumervil will get an early chance to rein havoc on the Denver offense. Baltimore will also get back Ladarius Webb, who was injured 11 months prior. James Ibedigbo and Michael Huff will start at safety for the Ravens. First round pick Matt Elam has picked up the defense, but the Ravens feel that the veterans will work out better.
On offense, Baltimore is stable. Joe Flacco shut down all the critics with a Superbowl ring, but the critics are already back. Flacco was nearly perfect last postseason, throwing for 1,140 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions. Flacco still has dangerous weapons to throw to, including Jacoby Jones and Torey Smith. Dennis Pitta is hurt, but Baltimore has Ed Dickson back and picked up Dallas Clark. The dangerous Ray Rice is a weapon in the passing game and running game. Their offensive is the example of consistency and they get the job done.
None the less, Baltimore and Denver will be a great 2013 NFL opening game. So, who do we like? When you go through major changes as Baltimore has, it takes game time to gel. Denver was tough last season and we believe that they'll be even better this year. We believe Wes Welker will open room for all of Denver's wide outs, leading to a career year for Payton. Denver's defense was solid last season and they'll miss Von Miller, but we look for them to contain Baltimore.

What We Expect Reggie Bush Will Do In Detroit
Reggie Bush going to Detroit may have been the best offseason move in the NFL. If Detroit was missing one major factor, it was a running game in 2012. In seven seasons, Bush has only carried the ball 967 times, pretty low for a seven year career and for a top tier running back. Is Reggie Bush a top tier back in the NFL? I believe we'll see in 2013.
Not only is Reggie Bush a danger in the backfield, he is also a danger in the passing game, yet another weapon for Matthew Stafford. In 2006, Bush caught 88 passes for 742 yards. Afterward, Bush was never at 100%. Bush was 14 yards shy from back to back 1,000 yard seasons in Miami. If Detroit's offensive line can give Bush room, this may just be his biggest season.
Reggie Bush has had issues staying healthy and this is always a concern. However, if he can stay healthy, we see him gaining over 1,500 all purpose yards and 10 touchdowns. If Bush is returning punts for Detroit, he'll gain well over 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. After a 4-12 season, Detroit will be hungry and amped to make some noise.
What is Reggie's biggest obstacle? More then anything, it's staying healthy. It's hard to believe that Bush is entering his 8th season in the NFL, but he still has fresh legs, even with the injury. When I look at the schedule, I believe they can win the first 4 games. The should be 4-0 or 3-1 going to Green Bay. This is their biggest game in the first half of the season. I still think their defense is week at the corners, not good for a physical defense like Detroit. If the front four can keep the pressure on, Detroit will be a dominant defense yet again.

RG3 Good For Week One?
RG3 Ready For Week One?
Washington Redskins' quarterback, Robert Griffin III, will find out tonight if he will be cleared to play in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles. RG3 is scheduled to meet Dr. Andrews while the rest of team will travel to Florida for their final preseason game against Tampa Bay. In a league that every game counts, could Washington afford a few more weeks without their starting stud?
Robert Griffin injured his right knee back in January and had reconstructive surgery in the same month. Nearly eight months later, RG3 is hopeful he will be cleared to play in the opener. Dr. Andrews cleared RG3 for practice right before training camp began. Now, he is hoping to get the green light from Andrews one more time.
We all saw the hits that Griffin III took last year, some of them were brutal. One has to wonder if he has learned his lesson. The heart of RG3 is undeniable and the energy has brought a Washington nation back to life. The Redskins went 10-6 last season and look to compete for a second straight division title.
More then likely, RG3 will be primed and ready as the Redskins host the Eagles on the opening night of Monday Night Football. However, if he isn't cleared, what does this mean to the Redskins? Their first three games are against Philadelphia, Green Bay, and Detroit. They have a brutal end-of-the-year schedule, which includes the New York Giants twice, Atlanta, Dallas, San Francisco, and Kansas City.

TIM TEBOW TO NEW ENGLAND
TEBOW TIME IN NEW ENGLAND
When the Jets released Tim Tebow a few weeks ago, everyone thought it was the end of his NFL career. NFL reports stated that there were no teams interested in Tebow. On top of that, hopes were that he may find interest in the Canadian football league. Just when you thought the ride was over, the New England Patriots announced that they would be signing Tim Tebow. Tebow is expected to join the Patriots tomorrow at mini camp.
There are more questions then answers right now as to why New England would sign Tim Tebow. It is obvious that New England has a plan for him or they wouldn't have signed him. Tebow will get the chance to make the New England roster and rumor has it as a quarterback. Everyone knows that Tom Brady is the starter, that is a given, However, there may be a chance that Tebow will compete against Ryan Mallett for the back up job at quarterback. Beyond that, sources say that New England may be interested in trading Mallett for a second round pick.
Nobody can deny the dedication and work ethic of Tim Tebow. We do have the right to question why New England would make such a decision. Tebow has already stated that he won't play no other position then quarterback. Has Tebow changed his mind? Perhaps the Patriots are considering using a wildcat package as the Jets stated a year ago. Could Tim Tebow move to tight end? One thing you can't doubt is the genius known as Bill Belichick.
What do you think? Are the Patriots making a mistake? Could Tebow learn from Brady? The one fact that can be said is Tim Tebow is in the best coaching position in his NFL career. Tebow will reunite with Josh McDaniels once again and New England is a great fit for a player like Tebow. Brady would never be threatened by Tebow so he is likely to help him. Brady is one of the best to ever play the position. This could also be a positive for Tebow.
At the least, he is in a much better place. The Jets signed Tebow for publicity and mearly ruined his career. With Marc Sanchez playing like he did, anyone would have been better. Coach Belichick knows what he is doing and I assume that he knows what Tebow will be doing. Only time will tell if it all pans out, but for now, Tebow is a Patriot.

Ray Lewis-Tribute To A Legend
REMEMBERING AN ICON
When it comes to grits and determination, they are only two of many words that could decribed former Baltimore Raven linebacker Ray Lewis. Ethics and hard work? Leadership and intellect? Purity and ability? Yes, they all describe Ray Lewis and you could probably find 1,000 more. After 17 Hall of Fame years for the Ravens, Lewis has finally called it quits. Then and now, we take a look back at one of the greatest athletes to play the game.
Lewis began to be noticed all around the country as a freshman linebacker for the Miami Hurricanes. In his freshman year, he recorded 81 tackles and 2 sacks. Lewis won freshman honors despite starting only 5 games. He really turned heads as a sophomore and junior, recording 154 and 160 tackles respectively. He led the Big East in tackles both seasons. Going into the 1996 NFL draft, Lewis was considered to be at the top of the linebacker class.
Despite his agility, speed, and football IQ, many doubted that Ray would be a starter in the NFL. This doubt would only add fire to his determination. Four linebackers were drafted before the Baltimore Ravens chose Ray Lewis with the 26th pick in the NFL draft. For the new franchise, it would turn out to be their best pick to date.
All the doubters were proved wrong as Ray Lewis quickly became a dominant force as a rookie. In just his second season, Lewis recorded 184 tackles, 4 sacks, and 1 interception. It was enough to earn his first Pro Bowl appearance. A few years later, Lewis anchored a defense that many called the best in NFL history. The Baltimore Ravens then won their first championship in SuperBowl XXXV as Lewis was named SuperBowl MVP. Lewis was also named Defensive Player of the Year in 2000.
One of the greatest records in NFL history is the streak that Baltimore put up during 51 consecutive games. The Ravens defense played 51 straight games, 1998-2001, without allowing a 100 yard rusher. In 2000, the Raven defense only gave up 165 points and only 970 rushing yards for an entire season. In 2003, Lewis won his second Defensive Player of the Year Award. For the next decade, the Baltimore defense would prevail as one of the best defensive units ever equipped. Since 2000, Baltimore has been a continuous SuperBowl contender. Any fan knows, if defense is mentioned, you think about Baltimore.
Any NFL fan would appreciate the battles between Pittsburgh and Baltimore. Every game they have played is physical and well worth watching. If you ever watched these two teams play, you know exactly what I mean. Lewis was and still is a motivator. Ray brings so much fuel and emotion to his team. Due to this, Lewis had the ability to make players better. He was an on-the-field coach and his dedication to the game will be seen forever.
Having the chance to watch Ray Lewis for his entire 17 year career has been a highlight of my life. He has touched many and inspired the rest of us. When I watched Ray play, I saw him give 100% always. Lewis was a true professional, a gentlemen's man. He was a warrior on the field, but when the final whistle blew, he was a friend. The love and passion that he had for the game is undeniable. He gave the NFL and the fans all he could. As a fan of the NFL, I appreciate that. I know certainly, there will never be another Ray Lewis.
Lewis finished with 2,061 tackles, 41.5 sacks, and 31 interceptions. Lewis played 21 playoff games and recorded 214 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 interceptions. In 2012, Lewis suffered from injuries and only started 6 games. He came back in the first round of the playoffs when Baltimore took on the Indianapolis Colts. In arguably his best post season performance, Lewis led the team with 51 total tackles in just 4 games. When the dust cleared, he went out in style as Superbowl XLVII champions as Baltimore defeated the San Francisco 49ers. In total, Lewis was selected to 13 Pro Bowls.
We will be seeing Ray Lewis sooner then later as he signed on with ESPN in March. It will be great to hear his voice and see him again, even though it won't be on the field. Ray Lewis was the best to ever play the position. He is an inspiration and the way he lives his life inspires. He is one of a kind and never could be replaced. Ray, thanks for all the memories. Worthy of note, Lewis has also done a lot of charity work and continues to work with his foundation. Ray has a beautiful heart and soul. The player is gone, but a legend is born.
