What We Expect Reggie Bush Will Do In Detroit

Reggie Bush going to Detroit may have been the best offseason move in the NFL. If Detroit was missing one major factor, it was a running game in 2012. In seven seasons, Bush has only carried the ball 967 times, pretty low for a seven year career and for a top tier running back. Is Reggie Bush a top tier back in the NFL? I believe we'll see in 2013.

Not only is Reggie Bush a danger in the backfield, he is also a danger in the passing game, yet another weapon for Matthew Stafford. In 2006, Bush caught 88 passes for 742 yards. Afterward, Bush was never at 100%. Bush was 14 yards shy from back to back 1,000 yard seasons in Miami. If Detroit's offensive line can give Bush room, this may just be his biggest season.

Reggie Bush has had issues staying healthy and this is always a concern. However, if he can stay healthy, we see him gaining over 1,500 all purpose yards and 10 touchdowns. If Bush is returning punts for Detroit, he'll gain well over 2,000 yards and 12 touchdowns. After a 4-12 season, Detroit will be hungry and amped to make some noise.

What is Reggie's biggest obstacle? More then anything, it's staying healthy. It's hard to believe that Bush is entering his 8th season in the NFL, but he still has fresh legs, even with the injury. When I look at the schedule, I believe they can win the first 4 games. The should be 4-0 or 3-1 going to Green Bay. This is their biggest game in the first half of the season. I still think their defense is week at the corners, not good for a physical defense like Detroit. If the front four can keep the pressure on, Detroit will be a dominant defense yet again.
